Logo Re-brand to incorporate motion graphic elements

I wanted to keep my original logo but just to add motion graphic elements. These are some of the designs I came up with and still playing with as we speak...

*TYPEFACE LOGO RE-BRAND*

#1 - I wanted some key elements representing motion graphics and video editing so I incorporated the "Play from Start" symbol as a spacer for my name and the word "design." I also added a dot for the lower case "j" which is actually the record symbol.

#2 - Nothing too big of a change but what I did was kern each letter to have closer proximity. Wasn't really enjoying it too much but I was fiddling around to see how it would come out.

#3 - On here I wanted to use my original typeface logo, which is my initials "FJD" and the "J" is actually replaced with the side-view of an Owl that I illustrated. But on this new concept, I changed the beak of the Owl and used the "Play from Start" symbol. Something was still missing so I tried something else...

#4 - I kept the same design as #3 but I added more exposure of the owl's side by illustrating just some portion of the head just to display that it's an owl. I'm enjoying this one very much but will continue to play around with the different variations I sketched out.

"LOGO RE-BRAND INCORPORATING MOTION GRAPHICS"

For these 3 I wanted the elements of RGB to be placed within my original logo. So I gave my logo an overlay to manipulate a silhouette and changed the color overlays to Red, Green and Blue. These are just the different placements I came up with. To be honest, I like the 3rd one out of the 3.

For this one, I wanted to give it that old-school "3D" feel. You know, where you go into the theaters and wear the blue and red 3D glasses and you would see something like shown above....it hurts the eyes just a bit but also shows that it's got a "3D" feel and what do people think when they see 3D? Movies. And when movies is in mind, you would think "Oh this person is probably involved with some special effects of some sort."

Now this has to be one of my favorites out of all the designs, excluding the typeface logo. The silhouettes moving at a diagonal motion represents the "Motion Blur" button in After Effects. It's one of my most used tools and it just makes things look better!

So there you have it! Let me know what you think!

Expialidocious (Kinetic Typography)

Well it's finally done...After months of procrastination, I finally finished my Kinetic Typography video on Pogo's 'Expialidocious.' It was quite the journey but it was definitely worth it.

I know there's a handful of you that don't enjoy the fact that people try to make up lyrics with Pogo's music but these were the things I heard from 'Expialidocious' and it's hard not to hum or whistle along with the tune...eventually you'll start saying gibberish words that don't mean anything but has a symphonic melody. The main reason why I chose to do 'Expialidocious' was that this was the first Pogo track I was introduced and just fell in complete love with.

Hope you'll all enjoy, it took me quite a while to get everything on the point and not to mention After Effects just eats my computer alive...

D!tto - Close Your Eyes

Here's a video I made for D!tto's track 'Close Your Eyes.' Recently, I've been listening to this track multiple times during the hour and I wanted to make a video for D!tto, thanking him for such a beautiful track.

I wanted to use, Walt Disney's 'Mulan' due to that it really compliments D!tto's track. At least when I listen to it, Mulan was the first thing to pop into my head.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy!

Alice: Madness Returns Fan-made Trailer

I've been really getting in the mood of making my own game trailers right after watching a few or just playing the game in general. Not too long ago I did an experiment trailer on Battlefield 3 and that was really fun to work with. Not to mention a few people enjoying the re-edits I've done.

So I beat Alice: Madness Returns a few weeks ago and boy was that game a twist. Love every bit of it. The story, the environment, characters, you name it. Then I decided to create my own trailer which consist of mainly the CG trailers that EA and Spicy Horse released...and a few clips from the actual in-game scenes.

Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Battlefield 3 fan-made video

I had this one song that was stuck in my head all of E3 and I wanted to try using it for a game and thought Battlefield 3 would fit nicely. Although the track has already been used for another game, I just wanted to experiment with this one and see how it turns out.

Enjoy!

Overkill Software

On the last day of E3, some friends of mine recommended me to check out a game called "Payday: The Heist," and I was not expecting this sort of instant action game from an unknown game developing team. Most indie developer's games are fun the first time and have a unique style of gaming but it's one that you won't be able to do for very long but after playing a quick demo of 'Payday' it made me wanting more.

Let's just say Payday has a mix of Left 4 Dead elements and some Counter-Strike elements but comes in with their own unique taste.

Check out the Payday: The Heist trailer!

Payday is currently not available but will be in the future on the Playstation Network and for PC, yes that's including Steam.

Overkill Software is a newly uprising game developing team but don't let the newcomer title fool you. They're coming in with a fearsome punch!

E3 2011 Semi-Teaser?

Full videos will be uploaded later. But to sum things up, this years E3 didn't impress me as much as last year. Only big title's were Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Toyager and more!

Well it's my second attempt and this was quite the journey and it's finally come to an end. My second contribution video to the artists 'Dainumo' and 'P.SUS' to their mix "Toyager," which is a mix between Daft Punk's "Voyager" and Pogo's "Toys Noize." Great mix that I've manage to keep bobbing my head to. Hope you all enjoy!

Jeesh123 - Ratatouille

One of Jeesh's track "Ratatouille" has been appearing on my iPod recently(iPod is on random) and I decided to do a video for it since I began to enjoy the track every time it was on.

This is my first time contributing a video to someone's track so it may not be one of the best, but it was very enjoyable to work with!

Overdue Teaser

I meant to release a teaser trailer a while back but been extremely busy and will be working on the full project bit by bit. The animated Space Bunny flipping about is just a place holder, I may have it interact with what I'm going to be doing but we'll see.

I've shown a portion of what I'm doing already and I don't want to spoil the surprise. There's actually more to it but I'd like to have the entire video made before I show the whole thing.

Quotes on shirts idea

There's a discussion on the Pogo Forums about shirts being made and I definitely like the idea of having a Space Bunny as a shirt. Then there was some people saying that the idea of using Pogo's vocal samples and adding it to a shirt. SO! I came up with these.

They're currently prototypes to just get the idea and if people want to see more or a revision of these t-shirt designs, then i'll do some tweaking on what I have now and maybe make a few more designs from Pogo's tracks.

Spring Break Project

I've come to a conclusion on what I would like to attempt once again as my personal project. Kinetic Typography. Seems like not a lot of people can't figure out much to do in this text-based art so I'm going to give it a shot but this time with After Effects.

My first attempt was all done in Sony Vegas which I didn't like at all due to the text on how it wasn't fluid enough as they came onto the stage. Here was my first attempt:

and here's a hint on my 2nd attempt ;)

Pogo Tours North America Trailer

So I finally finished my motion graphics final and boy was that a bit of work. I can see how much time you spend just sampling sounds from a movie...Anyways Pogo just toured the US and wanted to do something as a contribution so I decided to make a trailer for his US tour.

The trailer consists of footage from other users that attended his shows around the states.

Special thanks to :
-NinjaVanishQuickly
-netnet336
-nightowl31385

for borrowing your footage. It was a fun project to do, it kind of gave me a glimpse of how Pogo does these tracks that he works on. I'm sure this is just a small portion that may not take as long as the rest of the process to get an amazing track up. Anyways here's the video:

Pogo live @ Lot 613

Whew what a weekend. Saw Pogo's last performance and not only that I finally got to see Swashbuckle and HR PufnStuf oh and not only that, i've recorded the entire set so I'll be uploading his set in a couple hours. Currently fixing sound distortion...I took some footage on my phone(Samsung Focus) and the sound quality came out better than my HD Camera....So much for that..but here's what I've gotten so far. This section will be updated as I upload the footage to youtube.

3 flavors of 8 Bit

If you don't have this on your iPods yet, I recommend putting them on now. 3 Flavors of 8 Bit is a collaboration done by Dainumo, Jeesh and P.SUS using sound bits from Super Mario Bros. to Pacman.

So plug in your headphones, turn up the volume and let the harmonic 8 bit symphony do the rest. Your ears will thank you.

Tune in!
